Trinidad and Tobago: Elections

The political parties and the people of Trinidad and Tobago have again shown that elections are a celebration of democracy. The United States congratulates Prime Minister Patrick Manning and the People’s National Movement (PNM) for their victory in Trinidad and Tobago’s parliamentary elections on October 7. We look forward to continuing our close and productive relationship with the Manning government, as we have worked closely with previous governments in Trinidad and Tobago, on the many concerns that we share in the Caribbean and the wider Hemisphere.
