Israel/Palestinians: Ambassador Satterfield's Schedule

Question: What can you tell us about NEA Deputy Assistant Secretary David Satterfield's itinerary in the region?

Answer: NEA Deputy Assistant Secretary David Satterfield arrived in Jerusalem on Monday for discussions with the Israelis and Palestinians prior to his onward travel to Amman, Jordan for meetings on November 14-15 with his counterparts in the International Task Force on Reform (U.S., European Union, United Nations, Russia, Norway, Japan, International Monetary Fund, & World Bank). His discussions are focused on the Task Force's efforts to advance Palestinian civil and institutional reform that make possible free, fair, and credible Palestinian elections in early 2003, and help realize the President's vision of a final settlement based on two states living side-by-side in peace and security.
