Visit of Secretary of State Colin L. Powell to Mexico

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will take a 2-day trip to Mexico City, Mexico, on Monday, November 25, returning on Tuesday, November 26, to attend the Bi-National Commission meetings between the United States and Mexico. Secretary Powell will meet with his counterparts in Mexico to discuss the full range of bilateral issues that affect our two countries, including migration, border security, and trade.

The Secretary will attend a reception on the evening of November 25, to be hosted by the Foreign Minister of Mexico, Jorge Castaneda. Secretary Powell and Foreign Minister Castaneda will co-chair the Bi-National Commission plenary.  The commission meeting will conclude with a lunch co-hosted by Secretary Powell and Foreign Minister Castaneda followed by a joint press conference.

The Press Office is notifying those news organizations being offered a seat under the permanent rotation system.
