Israel: Terrorist Attack in Hadera, Israel

The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms this horrific act of terrorism in Hadera, Israel. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims of this vicious attack and their families. We also extend our condolences to Prime Minister Sharon and to the Israeli people and reiterate our support for Israel against terrorism.

There can be no tolerance for those who would act against the interests of the Palestinian people. As leader of the Palestinian Authority, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Fatah, Chairman Arafat must take immediate action against those responsible for these acts and confront the infrastructure that perpetuates terror and violence.
