Question: Is the embassy in Yemen a particularly secure building? Answer: The U.S. Embassy in Sana’a was constructed in 1988 and conforms to the physical security standards developed by the Department following the recommendations issued by the Advisory Panel on Overseas Security, chaired by Admiral Bobby R. Inman. The Department has taken additional steps to further enhance the security of the U.S. Embassy in Sana’a over the past few years.
