Malaysia - Visit of Defense Minister Najib

Question: Can you provide a read-out of Deputy Secretary Armitage's meeting this afternoon with Malaysian Defense Minister Najib?

Answer: Deputy Secretary Armitage and Defense Minister Najib bin Abdul Razak met for the first time this afternoon. They had a useful discussion of bilateral and regional issues of interest to both the United States and Malaysia, including the war against terrorism, in the run-up to Prime Minister Mahathir's May 13-15 official visit.
