Answer: Seyyed Abdul Majid Al-Khoe'i was an active participant in the Civil Society and Local Government working groups of the Future of Iraq project, in which he and other free Iraqis have been meeting to prepare for a better future for the Iraqi people. As Secretary-General of the Al-Khoe’i Foundation, Seyyed Abdul Majid was an internationally known religious leader, scholar, educator, writer, and civic leader. He was also known for his strong condemnation from a spiritual perspective of the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001. In recent years, Seyyed Abdul Majid had met with a number of U.S. and other international officials to urge U.S. and international support for the humanitarian needs of the Iraqi people. He was known as an advocate for the reconstruction of Iraq and as one of Iraq’s great advocates for democracy, freedom, reconciliation, tolerance, and the rule of law. |
