Press Statement (Revised) Richard Boucher, Spokesman Washington, DC April 22, 2003
Four Travel Warnings Cancelled
The Travel Warnings for Qatar (issued 2/12/03), Oman (3/10/03), the United Arab Emirates (3/10/03), and Bahrain (2/12/03) have been cancelled because the authorized departure of family members and non-emergency personnel at those posts has been ended due to improvement in the security situation in the region. These four Travel Warnings are being removed from the Department's website, and posts abroad are being advised to remove all copies of these Travel Warnings from all public display areas.
Travelers to Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain should review the current country-specific Consular Information Sheets, the Worldwide Caution Public Announcement and the Middle East and North Africa Public Announcement, all of which can be found at http://travel.state.gov, for the latest information concerning conditions affecting the safety and security of U.S. citizens traveling to those countries.
