Secretary Powell to Address U.S. Asia-Pacific Council Symposium

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will address the U.S. Asia-Pacific Council Symposium during their conference on Thursday, April 24, 2003. Secretary Powell will congratulate the Council on its inauguration and speak about the important contributions of cross-Pacific partnerships to global peace and prosperity.
 
The Conference will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Capital Hilton Hotel, 1001 16th Street, Washington, D.C., in the Capital Hilton Ballroom, and is open for press coverage. Secretary Powell’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. Correspondents are welcome to arrive and depart throughout the entire event, but cameras are asked to adhere to the following schedule:
 
Pre-set time for cameras: 7:00 a.m.
Final access for cameras: 7:45 a.m.
 
Media representatives who plan to attend must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
