Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage to Deliver Remarks to The National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, DC Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage will deliver a speech on “The Global Challenge of Proliferation” to the National Defense University on Wednesday, April 30 at 9:30 a.m. The remarks will review the international response to the spread of weapons of mass destruction, focusing on the situation in Iraq.
The speech is on-the-record and open for on-camera coverage. Media representatives are requested to arrive at Fort McNair’s “P Street” entrance for access to this event and must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
The speech will take place at Baruch Auditorium, Eisenhower Hall, Building 59.
Note: For access to the National Defense University press must enter the “P Street Gate” on P Street between 3rd and 4th Streets S.W. -- access is not granted from the Main Gate.
