Answer: Executive Order 13067 of November 3, 1997 prohibits transactions within the United States or by any U.S. person, wherever located, that facilitate Sudan's financing and construction of infrastructure and pipelines for oil exploration. Since the imposition of these sanctions, Sudan has not been permitted to secure financing of infrastructure and pipelines for oil exploration in the United States or with the involvement of U.S. persons. |
