Liberia: Contractor Involvement With Logistics Support for Vanguard Deployment

Question:   Will the contractor, Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE), be involved with the logistics support for the vanguard deployment to Liberia? If yes, what specific support will the contractor be providing?

Answer:   In the first two weeks, the United Nations will provide logistics support for the vanguard force. After the first two weeks, Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE) will begin to be phased in to provide a broad range of logistical support. This will include, but not be limited to, air and sealift of peacekeepers and supplies, equipment maintenance, and the provision of food fuel and water.
