Background Briefing on the Recommencement of Colombian Airbridge Denial Program

A Senior State Department Official will brief the press on background today at
4:00 p.m.
on the commencement of United States support to aerial drug interdiction operations in Colombia. This interdiction assistance will be an important contribution to Colombian President Alvaro Uribe’s aggressive and successful efforts to defeat illicit drug trafficking in Colombia. The briefing will be held in the Department of State Press Briefing Room (2209).

Press wishing to attend this briefing who do not have a State Department Building pass should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance by 3:45 p.m. for access to the briefing room. Those attendees must be escorted out through the C Street lobby.

Media representatives may attend upon presentation of one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
