Al Jazeera Arrest in Spain

Question:   What is the State Department position on the arrest by the Spanish authorities of the Al Jazeera journalist?

Answer:   Because this matter is currently the subject of judicial proceedings in Spain, we have no comment on this specific case.

In general, we support the efforts of the international community, including Spain, in the ongoing global war on terrorism.
