Jackie Wolcott Sanders Appointed Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament and Special Representative of the President for the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

Jackie Wolcott Sanders was sworn in as Ambassador on December 16, 2003, and assumes her duties on Friday, December 19, 2003.
 
Ambassador Sanders serves jointly as the United States Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva and the Special Representative of the President for the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. In this dual capacity, Ambassador Sanders works with the Arms Control and Nonproliferation bureaus to reinvigorate the Conference on Disarmament, represent the United States at other multilateral arms control fora, achieve a successful outcome at the 2005 Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference, and implement United States government policies on preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
