Briefing on the Iraqi Fulbright Program by Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Patricia S. Harrison

Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Patricia S. Harrison, with Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs Thomas A. Farrell, will hold a press briefing on Friday, January 23, at 2:00pm in the Harry S Truman Building press briefing room, 2209. The subject of the briefing will be the Iraqi Fulbright program and the first group of Iraqi students and scholars, who are scheduled to arrive in the United States in the next two weeks. This briefing will be on-the-record.

Members of the press who plan to cover this event but who do not have a State Department building pass should use the State Department’s 23rd Street Entrance and should allow adequate time for security processing.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as journalists, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver's license or passport).
