Secretary of State travels to International Reconstruction Conference On Liberia

Secretary of State Colin Powell will travel to New York on February 6 to lead the United States delegation to the International Reconstruction Conference on Liberia.

The two-day conference, hosted by the United Nations, the World Bank and the United States, along with the National Transitional Government of Liberia, will provide a forum for the international community to consider how best to promote political, economic and social recovery in Liberia. It will also provide an opportunity for those international supporters to pledge financial and in-kind support to help in Liberia’s recovery and reconstruction from conflict.
