Powell today named five public members to serve on the U.S. delegation to the Conference on Anti-Semitism, sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The Secretary earlier appointed former New York City Mayor, Ed Koch, to head the U.S. delegation to the conference that the Federal Republic of Germany will host in Berlin April 28-29.
Delegation members named by the Secretary are:

Fred Zeidman, Chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council
U.S. Government members:
U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE, Stephen Minikes
Ambassador Edward B. O’Donnell, Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues

The delegation will also include several members of Congress, to be named later.
The OSCE hosted an initial Conference on Anti-Semitism in Vienna last June. The Berlin conference will build on the results of the Vienna meeting in an effort to identify measures that member states can take to combat anti-Semitism and promote tolerance.
The OSCE is made up of 55 nations, located in Europe, Eurasia and North America.
