On-the-Record Briefing on NATO Enlargement by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Robert Bradtke

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Robert Bradtke will hold an on-the-record, on-camera press briefing on Tuesday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Carl T. Rowan Briefing Room (Room 2209) in the Harry S Truman Building. The subject of the briefing will be the accession of seven new members to NATO: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Members of the press who plan to cover this event but who do not have a Department of State building pass should use the Department of State’s 23rd Street Entrance and should allow adequate time for security processing.

Media representatives may cover this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as journalists, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver's license or passport).
