Uzbekistan Friendship Bridge

Question:   Any U.S. reaction to Uzbekistan closing the bridge between Uzbekistan and northern Afghanistan given its importance as a lifeline for Afghans in that region?

Answer:   We have seen reports that the bridge has been closed. We hope Uzbekistan will be mindful of the effect this closing will have on Afghans on the Afghan side of the border.
