2004 Earth Day

The U.S. Department of State will be celebrating Earth Day by hosting a business exhibition, "Improving Our World Together," to be held on April 22, 2004, in the Exhibit Hall of the Harry S. Truman Building from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Traditionally, the Department held a smaller exhibition focused on products and services for home use. This year, the Department expanded the scope by inviting large corporations as well as small to medium sized companies that are doing business internationally. Also invited to exhibit will be several non-profit organizations as well as some trade associations. The main objective is to promote American-made products and services to overseas markets while advancing Earth Day values to an international audience.

Further, the exhibition hopes to inspire American companies to adopt an environmentally-friendly culture in their respective businesses while promoting U.S. technology, products, and services. The exhibition is one of several initiatives by the Department to commemorate Earth Day. The Department expects to have roughly 35-50 exhibitors participating in the program, including several large multinational corporations.
