Deputy Secretary Armitage to Make Statement on Annual Terrorism Report

Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage will deliver an on-the-record/on-camera statement concerning the release of the Department's annual report "Patterns of Global Terrorism: 2003" on Thursday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m., in the Press Briefing Room.

Immediately following the Deputy Secretary's statement, there will be an on-the-record/on-camera press briefing on the terrorism report by Ambassador Cofer Black, the Coordinator for Counterterrorism.

Hard copies and CD-ROMs of the report will be available to members of the press beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Press Office, Room 2109, on Thursday, April 29 and will be embargoed until the conclusion of Ambassador Black's press briefing. The report will also be available on the web at www.state.gov when the briefing has concluded.

Media representatives planning to cover this briefing should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance by 1:30 p.m. for security procedures, and must present one of the following: (1) a US Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo identification issued by their employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their employing media organization verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (valid driver's license or passport).

At 4:00 p.m., Ambassador Black will hold an on-the-record/on-camera press conference at the Foreign Press Center for foreign media with proper credentials.
