Secretary of State Colin L. Powell to Participate in G-8 Press Conference

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will join his G-8 counterparts at a press conference on Friday, May 14, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. in the Dean Acheson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of State.  Following opening remarks by Secretary Powell, all participating ministers will respond to questions from the press.  During their meetings earlier in the day, the G-8 Foreign Ministers will discuss the Greater Middle East Initiative, key regional concerns, and other matters in preparation for the June 8-10, 2004 Sea Island Summit in Georgia.

 

Pre-set times for cameras:  2:00 p.m. from the 23rd Street entrance

Final access time for all press:  3:15 p.m. from the 23rd Street entrance

 

Media representatives who plan to attend must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
