Secretary of State Colin L. Powell To Meet Members of the Iraq Human Rights Victims Group

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will meet with three representatives of the Iraq Human Rights Victims Group on Wednesday, July 21, at 1:30 p.m.: Mr. Jano Rosebiani, an Iraqi documentary producer and expert on mass graves; "Taimour", a survivor of the 1988 Anfal massacre; and "Ibrahim", a victim of severe physical torture by Saddam Hussein’s security agency. (The names of the survivors are being withheld for the protection of their families).

There will be a camera spray in the Treaty Room at 1:30 p.m. There will be no Q&A; cameras, stills and writers are welcome to attend. Pickup time from the 23rd Street Entrance is 1:00 p.m.

Media representatives who plan to attend must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
