How does it relate to the issue of giving Albanian language rights to the Albanian minority in Macedonia?
Answer: We strongly support the Ohrid Framework Agreement, which brought an end to conflict in Macedonia, and the Macedonian government's strong commitment to its full implementation.
Provisions of the Ohrid Framework Agreement do pertain to the use of languages and symbols. We support provisions regarding use of Albanian language in local communities with significant Albanian populations. We understand other elements related to symbols will be addressed following parliament's consideration of the pending legislation on territorial reorganization.
