Meeting with Greek Public Order Minister Voulgarakis

Question:   Please provide a readout of Under Secretary Nick Burns' meeting yesterday with Greek Minister of Public Order George Voulgarakis?

Answer:   Under Secretary Burns met with Minister Voulgarakis April 12. Issues discussed included continued cooperation with Greece in the global war on terrorism, the fight against domestic terrorists, trafficking in persons, and improved border security and passport controls. We also welcomed the Greek government’s goal of issuing new biometric passports by 2006.
