Crash of West Caribbean Air Flight to Martinique

The United States is saddened by the tragic loss of life in the crash of the West Caribbean Air flight in Venezuela on August 16. The passengers on board the flight were French citizens and the crew was Colombian. We offer our deepest sympathies to France and Colombia, and to the families of the victims. The United States stands ready to provide any assistance that may be requested.
