| Press Statement Sean McCormack, Spokesman Washington, DC August 31, 2005 Contacting Foreign Nationals Possibly Affected by Hurricane KatrinaWe would like to advise concerned family members of foreign nationals residing or traveling in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina to try to reach their family members by phone, email or other available means. If they cannot reach their family members directly, we recommend they contact their embassy in Washington, DC for assistance. Reports from the region indicate that some phone lines are working but experiencing heavy call volume, so family members should be encouraged to keep trying. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (www.fema.gov) and the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) both have web sites available that contain information on the current conditions in the region. 2005/822
