Korea - Six Party Talks

Question: The Republic of Korea's Foreign Minister reportedly announced the Six Party Talks would resume sometime in February. Has the U.S. heard anything about the resumption of the talks?

Answer: We are not aware of any date agreed by the parties to return to the talks. We are prepared to return to the talks as soon as possible and hope to see an early resumption.

All parties pledged in November to return to the talks at an early date, and we look forward to beginning discussions on implementation of the September 19 Statement of Principles.

Any announcement would be made by the PRC as the host of the talks.
