Ambassador Danilovich Signs Democracy Agreement in Jordan

Ambassador John Danilovich, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, traveled to Jordan this week and today signed a $25 million grant agreement focused on strengthening democratic institutions. The two year program will help the Government of Jordan accelerate implementation of its homegrown reform agenda. Assistance will fund two initiatives to improve citizens’ political rights in the area of municipal governance, and to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of customs administration. These activities aim to broaden public participation in the political and electoral process, increase government transparency and accountability, and facilitate trade.
