U.S.-Ukraine Science and Technology Agreement Signed

McMurray today signed the U.S.-Ukraine Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement. Ukrainian Minister of Economy Volodymyr Makukha signed the agreements on behalf of his government.

The Science and Technology Agreement provides a framework for cooperation among a variety of public, private and academic research establishments, and builds on the successes of two previous agreements signed in 1994 and 2000, particularly in the fields of energy and health. Last year, we collaborated in the area of pandemic flu prevention. The new Agreement will continue established collaborations, and open other avenues of cooperation between the United States and Ukraine. Areas for potential future cooperation include innovation and commercialization of technology.
