Special Press Briefing To Be Held on the Conference on the Americas

Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas A. Shannon will brief the press about the White House Conference on the Americas, taking place on Monday, July 9 in Arlington, VA. This ON THE RECORD, ON CAMERA briefing will be held today, July 6, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. in the State Department Press Briefing Room, room 2209.

Media representatives wishing to attend this briefing should arrive at the 23^rd Street Entrance no later than 3:30 p.m. and present one of the following IDs: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization, or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (driver's license or passport).
