Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will deliver remarks at a ground-breaking ceremony initiating the start of construction of the expansion of the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, home of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), at 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 30. The expansion will add space for language and technology training as well as support the full range of inter-agency professional and leadership development courses. The ceremony will be held outdoors at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center located at 4000 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, VA. Officials from the Department of State and other federal agencies, Virginia and Arlington County government representatives, and FSI staff and students will attend.
The ceremony on the Shultz Center grounds is open for press coverage from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Please note that all press must be escorted to and from the event site by an authorized staff member while at the FSI facility.

To participate in the event, media must present one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
Use the Route 50 (east bound) entrance to the Shultz Center for vehicle entry. Parking for press vehicles will be available in front of the Visitors Center.
