Cambodia – Arrest of Khmer Rouge Leader Nuon Chea (Taken Question)

Question: What is the Department of State’s reaction to the arrest of Khmer Rouge leader Nuon Chea?

Answer: The U.S. supports bringing to justice senior leaders responsible for the atrocities committed under the Khmer Rouge regime. This arrest is a welcome step forward for the Tribunal, and we await the outcome with interest.
