Security for Former President Carter’s Trip (Taken Question)

Question: Did the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Israel request that Shin Bet provide additional security for former President Carter while he is in Israel? If so, what was the response by the Israeli government?

Answer: The Embassy consulted with Israeli authorities on arrangements for former President Carter's visit. We did not ask for additional support from Shin Bet. It was agreed that the desired security requirements were already being addressed through other means.
