Special Briefing: Iraq Update

On Tuesday, January 8, at 3:30 p.m., three representatives from a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Baghdad will brief reporters in person on their meeting with the President about their progress in Iraq. Ramadi Embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader Kristin Hagerstrom, Diyala Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader Dr. John Jones, and Baghdad 7 Embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader John Smith, will discuss current activities taking place in their areas of responsibility in Iraq. This on-the-record, on-camera briefing will take place in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room (2209).

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
