Special Briefing: Progress in Iraq

On Wednesday, January 16, at 3:00 p.m., Baghdad 4 embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader Louis Lantner will brief reporters on the progress in Iraq. This on-the-record, on-camera briefing will take place in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room (2209).

Team Leader Lou Lantner heads up a civilian-military embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team that serves a semi-rural area south of the capital city of Baghdad. Lanter’s team, so-called “Baghdad 4” is partnered with the 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
