Briefing in Advance of the Secretary’s Trip to Colombia

Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas A. Shannon and Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Daniel Sullivan will hold an on-the-record, on-camera briefing at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room (Room 2209) to discuss the Secretary’s trip to Colombia.

Press without a Department of State building pass should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance no later than 10:30 a.m. in order to clear security prior to the start of the briefing.

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
