Resumption of Detention Visits by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Uzbekistan

We welcome the announcement by the International Committee of the Red Cross that visits to detained persons resumed this past week in Uzbekistan. We are encouraged by this step, as well as the recent release of political prisoners, and we strongly urge the Government of Uzbekistan to take additional measures to address human rights concerns.
