U.S. Hosts Trilateral Meeting with Afghanistan and Pakistan

U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Richard Holbrooke will host a trilateral meeting with Afghanistan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta and Pakistan Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi today, Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Department of State. The officials are reviewing Afghanistan and Pakistan policy. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will drop by during the meeting, deliver brief remarks and make an announcement.

There will be a Camera Spray at the top of the meeting.
Final Press Access, from the 23rd Street lobby: 2:20 p.m.

There will be a Camera Spray at the conclusion of Secretary Clinton’s drop-by of the meeting, around 3:30 p.m.
Final Press Access, from the 23rd Street lobby: 3:15 p.m.

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
