The United States welcomes the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board’s appointment today of Ambassador Valentin Inzko as the new High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. We look forward to working closely with Ambassador Inzko when his appointment takes effect on March 26. Ambassador Inzko has extensive experience in the region and is well qualified to address the outstanding challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He will have our full support.

We appreciate Miroslav Lajcak’s service as High Representative and look forward to continue to work closely with him in his position as Foreign Minister of Slovakia.
