The United States welcomes the passage of the Brcko amendment and the progress that it represents. We congratulate all those who worked so hard from the beginning to reach agreement and ensure near full consensus passage of this important amendment. The United States remains deeply committed to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s success and strongly supports its NATO and EU aspirations.
We now urge Bosnia and Herzegovina’s political leaders to build on this historic success and to move quickly to resolve other outstanding issues required for full completion of the five objectives and two conditions set by the Peace Implementation Council and put Bosnia and Herzegovina firmly on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
