Question:

How many countries sit on the UN Sanctions Committee? Is the US a member of the Sanctions Committee? Who represented the US in the Sanctions Committee meeting on North Korea yesterday?

The 1718 Sanctions Committee, as with all other UN Sanctions Committees, is composed of all fifteen members of the Security Council, including the United States. The Turkish Permanent Representative is currently the chair of the 1718 Committee. The United States was represented at yesterday’s meeting at the expert level.
