The Department of State will release the annual Congressionally mandated Country Reports on Terrorism 2008 on Thursday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. Acting Coordinator of Counterterrorism Ronald D. Schlicher and Deputy Director for Information Sharing and Knowledge Development of the National Counterterrorism Center Russell Travers will provide opening remarks and will then respond to reporters' questions. Embargoed copies of the publication will be put on a password-protected website, and the login and password to access the site will be available at the Department of State's Press Office (Room 2109) at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30. Press who attend this briefing should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance of the Department of State and must present either (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
