Under Secretary McHale Remarks at Center for a New American Security

Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Judith McHale spoke today, June 11, 2009, at the Center for a New American Security’s third annual conference, “Striking a Balance: A New American Security”. The conference offered recommendations on how to strike a balance between immediate and long-term national security challenges facing the United States. Topics included Iraq, Afghanistan-Pakistan, National Security, North Korea, and combating violent extremism.

Under Secretary McHale’s remarks, entitled, Public Diplomacy: A National Security Imperative, highlighted the important role Public Diplomacy plays in the national security of the United States of America. The full text of Under Secretary McHale’s remarks is available at:
