The following is the text of a joint statement by the United States and Israel issued today in Washington, D.C.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman met today in Washington, DC. The two discussed a range of subjects including shared concerns regarding threats to regional security and stability and the need to advance a comprehensive Middle East peace.
The meeting of the Secretary and the Foreign Minister reflected the strong and enduring bonds between the two nations and underscored the United States’ unshakable commitment to Israel’s security. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister committed to renew the U.S.-Israel Strategic Dialogue in the near future. The decade-long dialogue provides a high-level forum for the two countries to discuss regional and international threats. The last session was held in July 2008.
