Question: Will the new UNSC sanctions against North Korea seek to target specific entities and/or individuals? Will the entities or names be listed?
Answer: The Security Council decided in Resolution 1874 that either it or the DPRK Sanctions Committee would adjust certain sanctions measures, including through the designation of entities, goods and individuals subject to those sanctions. The Security Council asked the Committee to undertake its tasks to this effect and report to the Council within thirty days.
The Committee has already begun reviewing designation proposals, but has not yet made any final determinations.
Once the Committee makes additional designations, it will transmit that information to the President of the Security Council in a document that will be publicly available.
