On Tuesday, August 11 at 4:00PM, Ambassador Elizabeth Bagley, the U.S. Department of State Special Representative for Global Partnerships
, will join Gary M. Cohen, Executive Vice President of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), for the signing of a memorandum of understanding launching a new public-private partnership to improve blood-drawing practices in sub-Saharan Africa. The partnership between the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and BD will help protect the health of healthcare personnel and patients in African countries by improving blood collection safety in clinics and hospitals.
This event will take place at the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, located at 2100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Suite 200, Washington, D.C. The event will be on camera and on-the-record.
Press who attend this event should arrive at the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the event.
