Secretary Clinton and Secretary Gates to Participate in Discussion on American Power and Persuasion at George Washington University

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates will be jointly interviewed in front of the George Washington University community by GW School of Media and Public Affairs Director Frank Sesno and CNN Chief International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour. The interview, on the reach and limitations of American power, will take place at Lisner Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009. It will be broadcast as an hour-long special on CNN at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

The event is co-sponsored by George Washington's School of Media and Public Affairs and GW's Elliott School of International Affairs, and in association with the University's Institute of Public Diplomacy and Global Communication.
