Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to Travel to New York for the United Nations 64th General Assembly

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be in New York City starting on Monday, September 21, 2009 to attend the United Nations 64th General Assembly. While in New York, Secretary Clinton will attend various events and conduct a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings with her counterparts. Additional details forthcoming.

The Department of State will establish a Press Office in Suite 24M of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, 301 Park Avenue (between 49th and 50th Streets) in New York City during Secretary Clinton’s visit. The Press Office will open at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2009, and will operate until the conclusion of the Secretary's visit. The telephone number for the Press Office in New York is (646) 521-3733. Details of media coverage for Secretary Clinton’s schedule will be provided at a later date. Daily schedules (including media coverage opportunities) and transcripts of the Secretary's remarks will be available in the Press Office.

Please note that, as in past years, the State Department will not establish a filing center at the hotel. Journalists must make their own filing, communications, and equipment arrangements.
